Country star Carrie Underwood and One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush are lending their support to Jones New York in the Classroom, an organization that raises money for underfunded classrooms. Together, Jones New York in the Classroom and TeachersCount.com have headed up “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher,” a PSA ad campaign that pairs celebrities with their favorite teachers who have inspired them.

One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush still uses the skills she learned from English teacher Peter Goss to succeed as an actress. “He taught me to read between the lines, to see the hidden messages, and to live the stories on the pages,” says Sophia.

“The way he taught me to break down a novel is the way I break down scripts, today.”

Want to know how you can support the efforts of  classroom teachers? The latest Jones New York in the Classroom T-shirts will be released on September 1, and will retail at Macys.com and JNY.com for $20. All proceeds will go directly to the cause.
